When I am afraid I will trust in You…

Let’s be honest here. Sometimes life is just scary. Sometimes even big people get afraid. Yes truly.

We are in that spot. Right now. Of being afraid. Maybe I should just speak for myself.  I am afraid.

Two rather important things we used to have are gone. Completely gone.  With them, security is gone. Missing these two things leaves us in a vulnerable place.

We were in this place before. Yet here we are again. Ten years later.

I don’t know why.  Why are we back to stage one? Running on empty? What are we suppose to learn? Did we get too comfortable? Did we think we could do it ourself?

Maybe, just maybe, we did.

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. Psalm 56:3

Perhaps you find yourself in a place like us. Security is gone. The future looks unknown. The answer seems impossible. You are afraid.

We are living through it right now.

We see God redeeming this. We don’t see the end of the story yet.

We have become closer as a couple through this.  There are more difficult decisions up ahead.  We have learned so much through it, and we are finding more we need to learn each day.

We can see something big God wants us to learn. He wants to stretch us to another level of trust in Him.

God never wastes anything. He won’t waste any pain in our life.  He wants to redeem every tough time we go through. He has our good in mind.  He might be taking us through something to grow us. To teach us to Trust Him more.

Trust Him. That is what we must do! Rather then looking at the feelings of fear that want to overtake us, let’s look to Him! Let’s trust Him, friends!

When I am afraid, I will trust in you, I will trust in you, I will trust in you.

When I am afraid I will trust in you, in God whose word I praise.

In God I trust, when I am afraid. In God I trust, in God whose word I praise.

“Trust me and don’t be afraid, for I am your strength and song. Do not let fear dissipate your energy.  Instead, invest your energy into trusting Me and singing my song.  The battle for control of your mind is fierce, and years of worry have made you vulnerable to the enemy.  Therefore, you need to be vigilant in guarding your thoughts.  Do not desire this weakness in yourself since I am using it to draw you closer to Me.  Your constant need for Me creates an intimacy that is well worth the effort. You are not along in this struggle for your mind. My Spirit living win you is ever ready to help in this striving. Ask Him to control your mind; He will bless you with Life and Peace.” – June 11th Jesus Calling by Sarah Young
